Choose a lightweight suitcase so that as much of the weight limit as possible goes toward the items you actually pack.

A TSA lock is a special suitcase lock that customs authorities, especially in the United States, can open with a universal master key without having to break the lock. This means that if your suitcase is selected for inspection, the authorities can check its contents and close the suitcase again without damaging either the lock or the zipper. This makes TSA locks particularly relevant if you are traveling to or through airports with stricter security checks.
